Hare Today, Gone Tomorrow

Better late than never. I painted this little Hare over Easter weekend and I am finally getting around to posting the finished painting.

I painted freehand without a pencil sketch under the guidance of Jean Haines, a watercolor instructor in the U.K. She forces me to leave my comfort zone by putting down my sketch pencil, being brave by simply dipping my brush into the paint and getting started. Easier said than done. I am still a bit stiff in my brush strokes using her technique, but perhaps in time that will improve.

Here is the finished fellow, all ready to leap straight off the page!

Hoppy Easter!
