Blue Jays and Peanuts
Peanuts! Get your peanuts! That seems to be the morning bird call around my house. Somewhere along the line, I read that blue jays like raw unsalted peanuts in the shell, so I though, eh, I'll give it a try. Lo and behold, they visit the feeder right outside my office window every morning.

According to All About Birds https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Blue_Jay/overview, The oldest known wild, banded Blue Jay was at least 26 years, 11 months old when it was found dead in the Newfoundland area in 2016.
My jay was painted on Arches 140 1b cold pressed paper, size 9 x 12 inches. The following watercolors were used: Lamp Black, Cobalt Blue, Phthalo Blue, Raw Umber, and Paynes Gray.

Maybe I should buy a few shares of stock in Planters peanuts, 26 years worth of peanuts is a lot of peanuts!
