Golden Retriever

A golden retriever named Shannon. That was our guy growing up. He came to live with us on the farm when he was just a roly poly puppy covered in soft baby fur and enough enthusiasm to keep up with 5 kids. He tagged along on many adventures with us, through fields and creeks and back again. One thing he hated though was the 4th of July. He always hid under my bed until all the fuss was over.

I used a reference photo found on Emily Olson's site. I have included the photo and a link to her YouTube channel below:

Painted on 9 x 12 in Arches 300lb watercolor pad using the following watercolors:

Indigo, Burnt Umber, Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine, Hooker's Green, Yellow Ocher, Alizarin Crimson, Jayne's Gray and White Gouache for the whiskers.
