French Bulldog

When French Bulldogs fly. I came across a sweet children’s book available on Amazon while doing my French bulldog research. The picture on the cover captured the fun spirit of these tiny wonders. I included a link to the book for those with children who might want to purchase it or to explore additional books by the author.

A dear friend of mine has a baby French Bulldog. Her name is Lady and with ears bigger than she is and short little legs, she is as cute as anything you will ever see.

I came across a watercolor tutorial by Emily Olson featured 3 dogs in the portrait, but I really only wanted to practice the Frenchie. So here is what I came up with:

My little Frenchie is painted on 9 in x 12 in, 300 lb, cold pressed Arches watercolor block. All in all, not too bad, but I would like to try it again with a smaller dog and add a pop of the color red, similar to the one below. The red against the black really makes the photo pop.

I hope your day includes a POP of color.

  1. Delightful, as always, my good friend Helen! Thanks so much for making us smile and for bringing colors to our world! You and yours stay safe! 🙂

  2. Laura Kate – One of six children, I was raised by a busy mom, who instilled in me a love of fabric. Though I learned to sew and knit at a young age, it was the arrival of my first grandchild that pushed me into action. A long-time knitter, I am now ready to explore all things fiber.
    Laura Kate says:

Cute doggie. I can almost guarantee that my day will include lots of color.
